Consignment All items must be in perfect condition, clean, in season and in style. We recommend that you carefully go through each item you plan to consign. Clothing should be brought in neatly folded in shopping bags or boxes. PLEASE NO GARBAGE BAGS!!! Equipment, furniture, toys, etc should be in excellent working order and meet all current safety standards. Please mention large items when making appointments, we must make decisions based on available space. In most cases you as the consignor will receive 40% of the sale price. There is also an option for in-store credit. You start by setting up an account, a simple process that involves providing a few details such as name and contact information. Adored by us will go through your items carefully putting aside ones we cannot use and entering the ones we can use into the system. After that our consignment software takes care of the rest. It is able to track all the items you consign with us, how much they sell for and what funds are available in your account.
Quality It is important that all items brought in by consignors be in topnotch condition, as we want to establish and maintain a reputation as a quality establishment. The clothing should be clean and ready for sale, that means there cannot be any stains, holes, missing buttons, etc. Equipment and furniture need to be complete and new-like condition.
Unacceptable Items We know you’ll do your best to abide by our quality guidelines. However, we do realize that this is not your primary focus in life. There will be times when an item or two will not pass our inspection. By default these items are donated to charity. However you can specify on your account that these items may not be donated and you will have 5 business days to pick them up once contacted, as our space is limited.
Item Pricing We will use our best judgment in pricing your items. Rule of thumb for most items is ½ of current retail value, keeping in mind that items are marked down automatically10% every 30 days in the store. You always have the option to remove your item from the store if you do not approve of the listed price.
Sale Pricing Items consigned are automatically marked down 10% every 30 days they are in the system. If you do not want your item marked down at all, you should pick it up within 30 days. All items are priced at a reasonable value and subject to a 10% discount used by Adored by us for marketing purposes.
Item Expiration In general, consignment businesses run on a pretty narrow margin and it is important to keep merchandise moving through the system. For each item there is a 90 day window in which it can sell before it expires. We encourage that you pull your items from the store by the 90 day expiration date . After 90 days, ownership of the item transfers to Adored by us. At this point we may choose to donate or significantly mark down these items in order to remove them from the sales floor.
Accessing your Funds You can use the funds in your account for store purchases at any time. You may request a payout at the end of you consignment contract. We will be happy to mail you a check, a small fee will apply to cover postage and envelope.
Loss We do our best to safeguard your consignment items. We have installed a professional alarm system with ADT Alarm Systems. However, we cannot be held responsible for loss due to theft, fire, breakage or other reasons.
